RULES OF THE VEUVE CLICQUOT BOLD WOMAN AWARD (CANADA)
INTRODUCTION
The Bold Woman Award is a free competition with no purchase obligation, organized by MHCS, a simplified joint-stock company with a capital of 433,193,789 Euros, headquartered at 9 Avenue de Champagne, 51200 Épernay, registered under number 509 553 479 RCS Reims, operating through its subsidiary establishment Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, located at 12 Rue du Temple, 51100 Reims (hereinafter referred to as "Veuve Clicquot" or the "Organizer").
ELIGIBILITY
- The Award is open to females who are at least eighteen (18) years of age and residents of Canada on the date of participation and who meet the following two (2) conditions. The participants must, on the day of their participation:
a. Be the legally appointed President, C.E.O. or equivalent, Owner, or Chairwoman of a corporation registered in Canada; and
b. Have effective control of said corporation, as defined under applicable Canadian business laws.
The Organiser's employees, their families, members of the Award jury and their families, and any other persons professionally associated with the Award are not eligible to participate.
- The Organiser reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participants in the Award. The Organiser may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose, and a prize may be withheld until the Organiser is satisfied with the verification.
ENTRY
- The Award entry period begins on April 1st, 2025, at 12:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) and ends on September 30th, 2025, at 00 PM ET (the "Period"). Any entry participation for the Award received outside this Period will not be accepted. The time of receipt recorded for entries by the computer servers of the Organiser will be used to confirm entries are received within the Period.
- To participate in the Award, each participant must follow the steps described below. The participant connects to the website exclusively dedicated to the Award, accessible online at https://www.boldopendatabase.com/en/bold-woman-award chooses only one of the two categories of the Award (Bold Woman Award or Bold Future Award), clicks on "Participate" and completes the following mandatory fields:
a. Her first name, last name, date of birth, and valid e-mail address; b. The company’s name, main activities, date of incorporation, business number, number of employees, and total revenues during the last financial year in 2024; c. The answers to questions related to below criteria; and d. Provides her consent, release, and waiver to enter into the Award.
- Participation in the Award is limited to one entry per person and per corporation for both categories of the Award. For the avoidance of doubt, participants may only enter one category of the Award.
- Any valid entry participation will be final at the end of the Period. After this date, participants will not be able to amend or update their entry.
- The Organiser shall not be held responsible for any entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted, or not received by the end of the Period for any reason.
SELECTION OF FINALISTS
- An independent jury selected by the Organiser shall select up to a maximum of five (5) finalists from all eligible entries in each of the two categories of the Award. The selection of finalists will be based on the following criteria:
a. Bold Woman Award: i. Demonstrate Entrepreneurial Daring ii. Reinvent Traditions with Success iii. Maintain an Ethical Approach to Business
b. Bold Future Award: i. Demonstrate Entrepreneurial Daring ii. Reinvent Traditions with Success iii. Maintain an Ethical Approach to Business
- The jury will nominate as finalists the participants whose entries they consider best fulfill the criteria set out in rule 11.
- The finalists will be notified by e-mail no later than January 25, 2026 (the “Selection Date”).
- The finalists will keep strictly confidential the fact that they are finalists until the public announcement of results by the Organiser. The Organiser reserves the right to ask the finalists to sign a confidentiality agreement if the Organiser deems this necessary.
- The finalists will be invited to attend the official award ceremony (the "Ceremony"). The time and location of the Ceremony will be communicated to the finalists at least one month in advance. The Organiser may, at its discretion, modify the format of the Ceremony or cancel the Ceremony for any reason.
- The Organiser or its designated representative will make a minimum of three (3) attempts to contact the selected finalists (using the email provided at the time of participation) within two (2) business days of the Selection Date.
SELECTION OF THE LAUREATE
- The independent jury will designate one (1) laureate from the selected finalists for each category of the Award. The selection of the laureates will be based on the same criteria used for the selection of the finalists.
- The laureates will be announced by the Organiser during the Ceremony in March 2026.
PRIZE
- Each of the two (2) laureates will receive a trophy on the day of the Ceremony as a prize.
- Each of the two (2) laureates will be invited to visit Maison Veuve Clicquot located at 12 Rue du Temple, Reims, France before the end of 2026 (the "Visit"). The dates and times of the Visit will be confirmed and communicated to the laureates at least three (3) months in advance.
GENERAL RULES
- Participation in the Award requires full acceptance of these Rules, and the decisions of the Organiser will be final.
- The Organiser reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the Award and/or revise these Rules at any time without giving prior notice.
- The Organiser may, in its sole discretion, disqualify entries deemed non-compliant with these Rules or if it has any reason to believe that efforts have been made to distort the competitive process or the spirit of the Award.
- All disputes, claims, issues, and questions concerning the Award and Rules shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Canada. Each participant agrees that the courts of Canada shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Award or these Rules.
RIGHT OF PUBLICITY
- The finalists and laureates may be asked to sign a release so that the Organiser can use their name, image, and all information provided to the Organiser as part of their entry in the Organiser’s publicity concerning the Award.
DATA PROTECTION NOTICE
