RULES OF THE VEUVE CLICQUOT BOLD WOMAN AWARD (UK) 


INTRODUCTION
1.    The Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award is a free entry no-purchase necessary award organised by Moët Hennessy UK Limited, having its registered office at 18 Grosvenor Gardens, London, SW1W 0DH (the "Organiser").

2.    The Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award (the "Award") includes two (2) categories: The Bold Women Award and the Bold Future Award. Your entry to the Award is governed by the terms and conditions set out in these rules (the “Rules”). Promotional materials relating to the Award, including all entry instructions also form part of these Rules. In the event of any conflict between any terms referred to in such promotional materials and these Rules, these Rules take precedence.

3.    To find out how the Organiser processes your personal data in relation to this Award, please the Data Protection Notice at the end of these Rules.

 

ELIGIBILTY

4.    The Award is open to females who are at least eighteen (18) years of age and reside in the United Kingdom on the date of participation and who meet the following two (2) conditions. The participants must, on the day of their participation:

a.    be the legally appointed President, C.E.O. or equivalent, Owner, or Chairwoman of a corporation registered in the United Kingdom; and

b.    have effective control of said corporation, as defined in section 1124 of the Corporation Tax Act.

The Organiser's employees, their families, members of the Award jury and their families, and any other persons professionally associated with the Award are not eligible to participate.

5.    The Organiser reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participants in the Award. The Organiser may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose and a prize may be withheld until the Organiser is satisfied with the verification.

 

ENTRY
6.    The Award entry period begins on September 2, 2024 at 12:00AM, London time and ends September 27, 2024 at 8:00PM, London time (the "Period"). Any entry participation for the Award received outside this Period will not be accepted. The time of receipt recorded for entries by the computer servers of the Organiser will be used to confirm entries are received within the Period.

7.    To participate in the Award, each participant must follow the steps described below. The participant connects to the website exclusively dedicated to the Award accessible online at https://www.veuveclicquot.com/en-be/bold-by-veuve-clicquot/nominate-now, chooses only one of the two categories of the Award (Bold Woman Award or Bold Future Award), clicks on "Participate" and completes the following mandatory fields:

a.    her first name, last name, date of birth and valid e-mail address;
b.    the company’s name, main activities, date of incorporation, business number, number of employees, total revenues during the last financial year in 2023;
c.     the answers to questions related to below criteria; and
d.    provides her consent, release and waiver to enter into the Award.

8.    Participation in the Award is limited to one entry per person and per corporation for both categories of the Award. For the avoidance of doubt, participants may only enter one category of the Award.

9.    Any valid entry participation will be final at the end of the Period. After this date, participants will not be able to amend or update their entry.

10.    The Organiser shall not be held responsible for any entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted or not received by the end of the Period for any reason.

11.    Your entry (or anything contained in or related to it) must be your own work and must not contain anything that:

a.    infringes a third party’s copyright or other intellectual property rights, or rights of publicity or privacy;
b.    promotes or encourages illegal activity;
c.    is fraudulent, false, misleading or deceptive;
d.    is defamatory of any person;
e.    is discriminatory, obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory; 
f.    contains sexually explicit material;
g.    promotes irresponsible consumption or handling of alcohol; 
h.    reflects negatively on the image, reputation or business of the Organiser

12.    Entries that do not comply with these Rules will be invalid.

 

SELECTION OF FINALISTS

13.    An independent jury selected by the Organiser shall select up to a maximum of five (5) finalists from all eligible entries in each of the two categories of the Award. The selection of finalists will be based on the following criteria:

a.    Bold Woman Award:
i.    DEMONSTRATE ENTREPRENEURIAL DARING
Participants can only be considered if they are deemed a leader or founder of a business for more than 3 years. This means that they have the most senior position within their organisations such as CEO, MD, or Chairman. The participant must have made a significant contribution to the success of her company by instilling her sense of entrepreneurship.

ii.    REINVENT TRADITIONS WITH SUCCESS
The participant must have made a tangible contribution to the transformation and evolution of traditional processes in her field, and which have supported growth for at least two years (difference of revenues proven by stats…).

iii.    MAINTAIN AN ETHICAL APPROACH TO BUSINESS
The participant must bring values of ethical change to the company and its direct ecosystem, such as improving environmental impact, fostering a supportive work environment and engaging in inclusive social change.

b.    Bold Future Award:
i.    DEMONSTRATE ENTREPRENEURIAL DARING
Participants can only be considered if they are deemed a founder of a business, established for less than 3 years. The participant must have made a significant contribution to the success of her company by instilling her sense of entrepreneurship.

ii.    REINVENT TRADITIONS WITH SUCCESS
The participant must have made a significant innovation or a tangible contribution to the transformation of an existing market.

iii.    MAINTAIN AN ETHICAL APPROACH TO BUSINESS
The participant must bring values of ethical change to the company and its direct ecosystem, such as improving environmental impact, fostering a supportive work environment and engaging in inclusive social change.

14.    The jury will nominate as finalists, the participants whose entries they consider best fulfil the criteria set out in rule 13.

15.    The finalists will be notified by e-mail no later than January 27th, 2025 (the “Selection Date”).

16.    The finalists will keep strictly confidential the fact that they are finalists until the public announcement of results by the Organiser. The Organiser reserves the right to ask the finalists to sign a confidentiality agreement if the Organiser deems this necessary.

17.    The finalists will be invited to attend the official award ceremony (the “Ceremony”). The time and address of the venue of the Ceremony will be communicated to the finalists at least one month in advance. The Organiser may at its discretion modify the format or the Ceremony, or cancel the Ceremony for any reason.

18.    The Organiser or its designated representative will make a minimum of three (3) attempts to contact the selected finalists (using the email provided at the time of participation) within two (2) business days of the Selection Date. If the selected participant cannot be contacted within two (2) business days of the Selection Date, or if the message is undeliverable then she may, at the Organiser’ sole and absolute discretion, be disqualified (and will forfeit all rights in connection with the Award) and the Organiser reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to select another finalist from the remaining eligible entries received in accordance during the Period (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section will apply to any newly selected finalist).
SELECTION OF THE LAUREATE

19.    The independent jury will designate one (1) laureate from the selected finalists for each of the category of the Award. The selection of the laureates will be based on the same criteria used for the selection of the finalists. The jury will nominate as laureate, the participant whose entry in their view best fulfils the criteria above.

20.    The laureates will be announced by the Organiser during the Ceremony.

21.    No other message or notification of any kind will be sent to other participants.

 

PRIZE

22.    Each of the two (2) laureates will receive a trophy on the day of the Ceremony as prize.

23.    Each of the two (2) laureates will be invited to visit Maison Veuve Clicquot located at 12 Rue du Temple, Reims, France before the end of 2024 (the "Visit"). The dates and times of the Visit will be confirmed and communicated to the laureates at least three (3) months in advance.

24.    The trophies and the Visit are not transferable or exchangeable by a laureate and no equivalent cash or credit will be provided. The Organiser shall be entitled to change the trophies and the Visit if circumstances beyond the Control of the Organiser, including availability for the Visit, make this necessary.

 

GENERAL RULES
25.    Participation in the Award requires full acceptance of these Rules and the decisions of the Organiser will be final.

26.    The Organiser and/or the jury will not be required to disclose any information regarding the participants or their decisions and choices except as maybe required in these Rules.

27.    The Organiser reserves the right to suspend, cancel or amend the Award and / or revise these Rules at any time without giving prior notice and, by continuing to take part in the Award subsequent to any revision, participants shall be deemed to have agreed to the amended terms.

28.    The Organiser may, in its sole discretion disqualify entries deemed to be non-compliant with these Rules or if it has any reason to believe that efforts have been made to distort the competitive process or the spirit of the Award.

29.    The unauthorised reproduction, representation or use in any way of all or part of elements relating directly or indirectly to the Award, and any brands, logotypes or trade marks is strictly prohibited. All trade marks, logos and any other intellectual property rights are and shall remain the property of their respective owners.

30.    The Rules may be sent by mail free of charge to any person who requests them from the Organiser in writing at any time before the Ceremony and for a period of one month thereafter. These Rules are also available on the website dedicated to the Award https://www.veuveclicquot.com/fr-ca/bold-by-veuve-clicquot/about.

31.    If any provision of these Rules is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the enforceability of any other provisions not held to be invalid.

32.    All disputes, claims, issues and questions concerning the Award and Rules, or the rights and obligations of the participants and the Organiser in connection with the Award, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the English law. Each participant agrees that the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with the Award or these Rules.

 

RIGHT OF PUBLICITY
33.    The finalists and laureates may be asked to sign a release so that the Organiser can use their name, image and all information provided to the Organiser as part of their entry to the Award in the Organisers publicity concerning the Award including, without limitation, on (or in) the Organiser’s social media pages, websites, press releases and advertising.  

 

DATA PROTECTION NOTICE
34.    The Organiser will process your personal data (and if you win a prize for more than one person, the personal data of your guest(s)) to administer this Award and publicise the winner in accordance with these Rules. The personal data may include your, or if you are a winner, your guest’s, name, contact details and any other information you provide to the Organiser as part of this Award. The Organiser will use this personal data for its own legitimate interests, such as to administer and manage the Award, or when required by law.

35.    The Organiser will keep the personal data for as long as is necessary to administer this Award and a reasonable period thereafter to deliver prizes, resolve disputes and comply with legal requirements.

36.    The Organiser will not share your personal data, or if you are a winner, the personal data of your guest(s), with any third party other than those engaged by the Organiser to administer the Award and fulfil the prizes. The Award will transfer and store personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

37.    You have the right to be removed from this Award at any time or to object to any use of your personal data not required to administer the Award, unless the Organiser has compelling legitimate interests. However, this may result in the removal of your entry from the Award, and if you are a winner or a guest of a winner, will mean that you cannot receive or take up a prize. You, and if you are a winner, your guest(s), also have the right to access, amend, erase or receive a copy of the personal data in a portable form, to the extent permitted by law. If participants or guests of winners wish to exercise these rights in relation to the Award, they may contact Privacy-UK@moethennessy.com and they have the right to contact a data protection authority if they have any unresolved complaints.

38.    These terms relate solely to the use of your personal data (and if applicable, your guest’s personal data) in relation to the Award.
