BOLD WOMAN AWARD BY VEUVE CLICQUOT GERMANY
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
GENERAL:
- These terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) shall apply to the participation in the Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award Germany (the “award” or the “Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award”).
- The promoter is Moët Hennessy Deutschland GmbH, Seidlstrasse 23, D-80335 München (the “Promoter“). The Promoter will be supported by LA MAISON Victor • Schilly & Friends GmbH, Inselstraße 1b, 10317 Berlin, (the “agency”) with respect to the award and its performance.
- This award is open to all women who act in the exercise of their trade, business or profession (traders within the meaning of § 14 of the German Civil Code, BGB). This award is open to German residents only who are in possession of a valid identity document.
- This award is closed to (a) all participants under the age of 18 years old, (b) persons who act predominantly outside their trade, business or profession (consumers within the meaning of § 13 of the German Civil Code, BGB) and (c) any director, member, partner, employee or consultant of the Promoter or the agency, and any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members. Further exclusions as set out in clauses 19 and 20 apply.
- We adhere to the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR“) and will only process your personal data for the purposes of promoting, administering and performing the Bold Woman Award by Veuve Clicquot only. Please see our data protection notice at the end of these Terms and Conditions which informs you about the processing of your personal data and your related rights.
- The award submissions commence on Tuesday, 1st April 2025 and entries close at 23:59PM German Standard Time (CET) on Friday, 25th April 2025 (the “Submission Period”).

THE AWARDS:
The Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award Germany comprises of two awards: the Bold Woman Award and the Bold Future Award. Please see the below criteria for each award (the “criteria”).
DEMONSTRATE ENTREPRENEURIAL DARING
The candidate must be a woman who founded or has been CEO for five or more years of one or more companies in Germany.
The candidate must have made a significant contribution to the success of her company by instilling her sense of entrepreneurship.
REINVENT TRADITIONS WITH SUCCESS
The candidate must have made a tangible contribution to the transformation and evolution of traditional processes in her field, and which have supported growth for at least four years.
MAINTAIN AN ETHICAL APPROACH TO BUSINESS
The candidate must bring values of ethical change to the company and its direct ecosystem, such as improving environmental impact, fostering a supportive work environment and engaging in inclusive social change.
DEMONSTRATE ENTREPRENEURIAL DARING
The candidate must be a woman who founded or has been CEO of a company that has been in existence for less than five years in Germany.
The candidate must have made a significant contribution to the success of her company by instilling her sense of entrepreneurship.
REINVENT TRADITIONS WITH SUCCESS
The candidate must have made a significant innovation or a tangible contribution to the transformation of an existing market.
MAINTAIN AN ETHICAL APPROACH TO BUSINESS
The candidate must bring values of ethical change to the company and its direct ecosystem, such as improving environmental impact, fostering a supportive work environment and engaging in inclusive social change.
FINALISTS AND WINNER, ANNOUNCEMENT
- The top 3 finalists for each award will be evaluated and selected by the Promoter and the agency according to the above criteria for each award on the basis of the submissions of the candidates and publicly available (online) information about the candidates (for example news releases, company information and other awards won) (together the “Candidate Profile”).
- The top 3 finalists will be required to participate in the creation of a video about their story (“Candidate Video”). The videotake will be organized by the Promoter and take place in the respective candidate’s company’s office in May 2025. If a top 3 finalist does not respond to the invitation to participate in the videotake within five business days, the Promoter reserves the right to select another top 3 finalist pursuant to the above criteria for each award.
- The Candidate Profile and the Candidate Video of the top 3 finalists will be provided to a jury of 9 members (including the managing director of the Promoter, businessmen, economic journalists and actors) (“jury”) by email. The jury will use the Candidate Profiles and Candidate Videos to evaluate the top 3 finalists. The jury will apply a point system to evaluate the top 3 finalists based on the criteria for each award. The winner will be awarded based on the highest number of points received.
- The winner of the BOLD WOMAN AWARD and the winner of the BOLD FUTURE AWARD will be announced Thursday 5th June 2025 at an award ceremony at the Reethaus, Köpenicker Chaussee 3a, 10317 Berlin.
- All top 3 finalists shall be present at the award ceremony. During the award ceremony, the Candidate Videos will be displayed and each of the top 3 finalist will be asked a question.
- Finalists residing outside of Berlin will have flights or train rides on 5th June 2025 from the airport or train station nearest to the place of the finalists’ residence to Berlin and back on 6th June 2025 to the same airport or train station, and accommodation (excluding meals) arranged at the Promoter's costs.
- If the award winner cannot be contacted until 21st May 2025 with respect to the award and her travel arrangements, the Promoter reserves the right to select another winner for the award in accordance with the above criteria and procedure.
- The Promoter reserves the right to name winners publicly in connection with the public information about the award.
In case the candidate is a top 3 finalist, the candidate agrees that the Promoter shall be entitled (by itself or through the agency):
- to use the Candidate Video, the candidate’s name and picture in promotional and informational materials created for press releases and other publicity purposes, as necessary to publicly inform about and promote the award, via relevant channels and media (including social media, digital, print and the Promoter’s or its affiliated group companies’ social media accounts or websites); and
- to take images and videos of the candidate at the award ceremony and to use, reproduce, edit, publish and distribute such images and videos taken of the candidate and the candidate’s name in promotional and informational materials created for press releases and other publicity purposes, as necessary to publicly inform about and promote the award, via relevant channels and media (including social media, digital, print and the Promoter’s or its affiliated group companies’ social media accounts or websites),
in each case without remuneration being made payable to the candidate. The candidate hereby grants the Promoter the necessary rights.
- In case the candidate qualifies as top 3 finalist, she will be asked to provide further declarations as necessary to effectuate and/or document the rights of use granted under clause 16, including, as required, consent to the related processing of personal data. The candidate will be given the right to object to her name, images and data being used in accordance with clause 16 and, as applicable, to withdraw corresponding consent by written notification to the Promoter.
MISCELLANEOUS
- The decisions of the Promoter, their agent and the jury are binding and cannot be contested by the candidates.
- The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any submission if fraud or cheating is detected or objectively suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.
- No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted submissions will be accepted. Submissions will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
- The Terms and Conditions shall be exclusively governed by German law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction shall be at the local courts in Munich, Germany.
- Should individual provisions of the Terms and Conditions be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected thereby.
DATA PROTECTION NOTICE
1. Responsible controller and contact details: Moët Hennessy Deutschland GmbH ("Promoter", "we" or "our") is responsible for the processing of your personal data as controller. 2. Types of data processed: If you participate in the Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award Germany ("award"), we will collect and process the personal data you disclose to us during your participation, including your submission and presentation of entrepreneurial daring, traditions with success, and ethical approach to business, and, as applicable for finalists, videos about their story. We will further receive personal data in the context of your registration via the www.boldopendatabase.com website which is operated by our affiliated group company MHCS, a French company with headquarters at 9 Avenue de Champagne, 51200 Epernay, registered under the number 509 553 459 RCS Reims, such as your identification data (first name, last name, title, date of birth, country of residence, email address and photo; professional data (name of your business/name of your employer, position held, your business’ legal and financial information (creation date, legal status, location(s), email address, phone number, revenue, industry, workforce, funding), professional social media accounts, website, media coverage of your business); your training and professional skills: educational background, higher education institutions attended, level of study, languages spoken; your requirements, preferences and areas of interest. In addition, we will receive personal data from our agency, such as information collected about you from publicly available (online) sources, as relevant for the verification and evaluation of your submission (for example news releases, company information and other awards won).
3. Purposes and legal basis: We will use your personal data for the following purposes:
- Administering and performing the award, as further described in the Terms and Conditions. This includes reviewing, evaluating and administering your submission and participation (including, as applicable, conducting online interviews, and creating videos about the top 3 finalists as necessary for review and evaluation of their story). Your Candidate Profile and Candidate Video (as defined in the Terms and Conditions) will be presented to our dedicated external jury members and also be displayed to the audience at the award ceremony. The processing of your personal data, including your Candidate Profile and Candidate Video, is based on the necessity of the processing for the performance of the contract with you concerning your participation in the award and/or to take steps at your request prior to entering into such contract (Art. 6(1) lit. b) GDPR).
- Creating promotional and informational materials for press releases and other publicity purposes, as necessary to publicly inform about and promote the award. This includes, in each case solely as necessary in connection with the information about and promotion of the award, publishing the Candidate Video via selected digital media channels (such as the Promoter’s or its affiliated group companies’ social media accounts or websites) and, as applicable, taking images of the winner and publishing the images and the name of the winner for publicity purposes via selected media channels (including social media, digital and print). The processing of your personal data is based on your consent (Art. 6(1) lit. a) GDPR).
- Compliance with our legal obligations (Art. 6(1) lit. c) GDPR), and safeguarding our legitimate interests in ensuring and documenting compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and in establishing, exercising and defending our legal claims (Art. 6(1) lit. f) GDPR).
4. Obligation to provide data: You are free to participate in the award, and you are neither contractually nor legally obliged to provide your personal data. However, in case you do not provide your personal data, we may not be able to consider your participation in the award.
5. Disclosures of your personal data and international data transfers: Your personal data, including your Candidate Profile and Candidate Video, may be disclosed to our dedicated external jury members (as necessary to evaluate your submission), to our agency and other third-party service providers (such as IT-service provider and cloud solutions, marketing agencies, and other business partners engaged by the Promotor to handle your participation), and to our affiliated group companies (as required for evaluating or administering your submission and participation, and/or promoting the award). To the extent any recipients of your personal data are located in a country outside the European Union ("EU") and European Economic Area which may not provide for the same level of protection as considered adequate in the EU on the basis of an adequacy decision by the European Commission, we will take appropriate measures to ensure that your personal data will be adequately protected (including by entering into EU standards contractual clauses and, where necessary, implementing supplementary measures). To learn more about the recipients of your personal data, the countries where your personal data is processed, and the safeguards in place, including, as applicable, to receive a copy of the safeguards taken, please contact the Promoter at the contact details set out above.
6. Data storage: We will store your personal data only for as long as required to handle your participation in the award. Unless you are the winner, your personal data will be deleted thereafter, unless any further storage is required to comply with applicable legal obligations or to establish, exercise or defend our legal claims. In case you are the winner, we will store your personal data for as long as required for the promotional and publicity purposes, or until you withdraw your consent for the use of personal data (including your name and image) for promotional and publicity purposes. In case you withdraw your consent, we will cease any future use of your related personal data (and any personal data contained therein). However, we may not be able to prevent any information already published or distributed at the time of withdrawal of your consent from being further in use, and we may continue to use any materials or results already created and/or produced at that time with considerable investment, to the extent we cannot prevent the use of your personal data with reasonable efforts.
7. Data subject rights: You have the right, subject to and in accordance with applicable data protection laws: (i) to obtain information on the personal data processed concerning you and to obtain a copy of such data (right of access); (ii) to obtain the rectification of any inaccurate personal data and, taking into account the purposes of the processing, to have incomplete personal data completed (right to rectification); (iii) if there are legitimate grounds, to obtain the erasure of the personal data (right to erasure); (iv) to obtain the restriction of the processing of the personal data, if the legal requirements are met (right to restriction of processing); (v) if the legal requirements are met, to receive the personal data provided by you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit this personal data to another controller or, if technically feasible, to have it transmitted by the Promoter (right to data portability); and (vi) not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you, if the legal requirements are not met. An automated decision-making process is not carried out by the Promoter. If the data processing is based on consent, you can withdraw the consent at any time. The withdrawal of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your personal data until withdrawal.
You also have the right to object at any time, in accordance with the statutory provisions, to the processing of your personal data, which is necessary for the purpose of the Promoter's or a third party’s legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation (right to object). If your personal data is processed by us for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object to this processing at any time, without any special reason.
In order to exercise your rights (including the withdrawal of your consent), as well as in the event of questions regarding the processing of your personal data, please contact the Promoter or our data protection officer at any time using the contact details set out above.
Without prejudice to any other remedies, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority at any time.
